While Facebook and other social media played an essential role
in creating the protests themselves, I would argue that their even more important role consisted
in continuously fuelling them, as multiple Facebook pages dedicated to the protests started posting photos, videos and articles on what was
happening, while simultaneously engaging the public and the protesters
in a discussion on a wide range of important and thought - provoking civic
topics, ranging from the manifestations themselves to Romania's political
future.
This is a
topic we will address many more times
in the
future, but for now, be sure you understand the rules, and make sure you pay attention to what will
happen when you finish school, not just what
happens at the start.
However, it shouldn't be a big deal, Pearce misrepresents Schmidt (rather ironic given the
topic of the meeting), Schmidt writes a pretty moderate letter of complaint, hopefully Pearce appologises and agrees to run such statements by Schmidt
in future to make sure it doesn't
happen again
in the
future.
