I would love to see more savoury recipes
with avocados, only because I know how well they can be used as substitutes
in desserts, but the only savoury recipe I know is guacamole and when
avocados are cut into slices or bits and put as
toppings on soup or sandwiches, but I'd love to get to know more savoury meals where
avocados play the main role.
Once you've
topped your creation
with avocado, drizzle French dressing over the whole thing and dig
in!
In a medium sized bowl, start
with a bed of cooked forbidden black rice,
top with onions, kale, sliced
avocado and tuna.
To assemble the salad, start by filling your salad bowl
with mixed baby greens and then adding the bacon crumbles, some diced
avocado, fresh tomato, the hardboiled egg, garbanzo beans, the steak and gorgonzola crumbles
in separate, small piles on
top.
I like them
in spinach and goat cheese omelets, scrambled and
topped with avocado, or simply fried
with a side of bacon!

Baked tortilla chips slathered
in enchilada sauce, black beans, and sauteed kale and
topped with eggs,
avocado, salsa, and cheese makes a satisfying twist on traditional chilaquiles.
I made a rice noodle bowl today
with grilled
avocado, yellow squash and sautéed shitake mushrooms (all coated
in tamari and sesame)
with that sauce drizzled on
top.
To this high fiber, lean protein base, I add sauted grape tomatoes
in olive oil and
top with heart healthy
avocado cubes.
That way, all you have to do is fry up an egg
in your adorably unnecessary single serving egg pan, nuke your sweet potato for half a minute, smash some
avocado and salsa (I love Frog Ranch hot salsa)
in the middle and
top it
with the egg.
While these quinoa, sesame, rice cakes would be lovely along side a piece of fish (I served it
with salmon the other night), I am really crushing on this version right here, simply
topped with avocado, spicy mustard, and a few other goodies that can be adapted depending on what greenery you have
in your fridge.
To assemble the bowl add
in the rocket (if using)
top it
with the tofu scramble, garlic roast sweet potatoes, spinach bites, vine tomatoes and the sliced
avocado.
Vegetarian, taco salad that's tossed
in a spicy
avocado chipotle sauce and
topped with crunchy, roasted chickpeas.
What I had intended to do was toss the carrots
with olive oil and cumin, salt and pepper, roast them until they were soft, but not overly brown (I might put them
in a covered dish next time), put some
avocado slices on
top and then squeeze fresh lemon juice over it.
Once sweet potato is cooked through, prepare your Buddha Bowl by placing your rice
in the bottom of a bowl and then
topping with the sweet potato, chickpeas, spinach, red cabbage and
avocado.
Serve the soup
in bowls
topped with the crispy tortillas, coriander leaves, sliced chilli,
avocado and feta.
We ended up eating it as a rice bowl,
topped with avocado and some spinach sauteed
in chili sesame oil — which was delicious nonetheless!
Will eat on rice or cous cous
with shredded cheese on
top, or wrapped
in a tortilla
with avocado and cheese and, if there's any around, some leftover chorizo, pork or chicken
For each salad, place a few handfuls of mixed greens
in a large bowl and
top with half of the chopped pear,
avocado, walnuts, and grilled mushrooms and onion.
Arrange the green
in the tortilla salad bowls and
top with the lentils, tomatoes, black beans, olives, corn, and
avocado.

in this strawberry yogurt parfait but as a base to
top with whatever your mind can come up
with — we had some
with mashed
avocado yesterday for a kind of
avocado toast without the need to toast the bread.
