As a blogger, it's important for me to
feel like I bring something
totally original and earth - shattering to the blogosphere each day, so I'm writing this letter to inform you that I won't be employing your services any longer.
With Abrams» Star Wars, you know exactly what you're getting yourself into, he's
totally nailed the
feeling and texture of the
original trilogy.
It manages to introduce a lot of new features that greatly enhance the gameplay experience, but retain enough of the
original DNA to make sure it doesn't
feel totally alien to players who have been Pokémon trainers since 1996.
Cut down somewhat from the
original release, it would have benefited from still more cutting as, if you're not
totally in love with the characters, it can
feel flabby and tedious at times in what IS a long «film».
While this remake evokes and / or borrows many designs and big ideas from Paul Verhoven's 1987
original, the meat of the story is almost
totally unique, giving it the
feel of a completely different movie.
I don't really know how to
feel about this
totally unnecessary sequel but I have faith in the fact that
original writer Taylor Sheridan had enough faith to go back in and continue the story of Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin's characters without the aid of prior leading lady Emily Blunt, director Denis Villeneuve and cinematographer Roger Deakins.
The faster movement makes everything
feel better, and it's not that the
original game was even particularly slow it's just that the increased speed gives you that
feeling of extra power and control that
totally changes the game.
But with Splatoon at least, their iconoclasm has given us something truly special: a joyful, undeniably fun shooting game that upends the most alienating aspects of the genre while retaining its core pleasures — a game that looks and
feels like a quintessential Nintendo experience, while still offering something
original, exciting, and yes,
totally fresh.
And yet it still
feels totally original.
