Good school leaders ensure that their teachers have the resources and training needed to meet high expectations, while also creating environments that
aspire toward continuous improvement.
In particular, the report describes how a longer day opens up opportunities to foster children's development across cognitive, social, physical, and emotional domains by: (a) crafting a schedule around a robust educational program; (b) focusing on building strong child - adult relationships and (c) enabling teachers to
collaborate toward continuous improvement.
In collaboration with Partners for Each and Every Child (Partners for), ISBE and state - level advocates and experts have participated in a process of ongoing and meaningful engagement, with an
eye toward continuous improvement.
I also want to be clear with you on this point: my hope is that most families will allow their children to take the test so that we as a school can have all the tools available to us to help us focus our instruction, identify gaps in achievement among the diverse population for our school and
work toward continuous improvement in our teaching.
