While the Trophy system was primarily designed to
track and destroy approaching
enemy fire, it also provides the additional benefit of locating the
position of an
enemy shooter.
But these squads were equipped with handheld computers into which
enemy positions could be typed, as well as global
positioning systems to
track their own locations.
Keeping
track of all those units in the heat of battle is no easy burden, and illusions of grandeur will quickly deflate after a few attempts at blindly throwing troops into a well fortified
enemy position.
You move along characters on a grid, so you'll need to keep
track of your
position to keep out of the
enemy's attack range but also line up attacks so you can hit as many
enemies as possible with your attacks and skills.
For example if an
enemy is about to attack you can use the Reactive Attack — if timed correctly — to give a countering blow to stop them in their
tracks and put yourself in stronger
position, which could then be added upon with a combo of other attacks.
In almost every second of the game, a player keeps
track of the
position of the
enemy, his speed, where the gun is aiming, and so on.
