At first sight it seems Metal Gear Solid Vocal
Tracks is another
soundtrack CD for Metal Gear Solid V: it was released alongside The Phantom Pain
on September 2nd and its cover looks very similar to the OST for MGSV.
Star Fox would be great if, and only if, they take out the corny comedic elements and make it a more serious «save the galaxy» type game... with a narrative worthy of an award winning script, Zelda-esque world gameplay and a stellar
soundtrack... GC Star Fox was
on the right
track, but it could be improved dramatically
In place of the tightly - wound farce of Four Weddings and a Funeral, which came with Wet Wet Wet
on the
soundtrack, we get some Nick - Hornby - inflected alt - rock
tracks featuring tremulous males singing over wistfully out - of - tune pianos.
When placed beside the CD, the isolated score
tracks are more bass - friendly and robust, but given several cues
on the DVD were edited to fit specific scenes, the
soundtrack album is still the definitive source for Hancock's superb score.

on a separate audio
track, offering a more precise mix (though oddly, lacking extra bass present in the regular
track) of Cole Porter's naughty lyrics and some impressive orchestra passages (arranged by Andre Previn and Saul Chaplin).
The original mono mix hasn't aged as well — it's shrilling in the highs, and dialogue levels are a bit rough in spots — but similar to Fox» Son of Fury and the Castile DVDs, Newman's score has been isolated
on a separate
track, and as a special bonus, contains the true stereo remixes used for the 2000
soundtrack CD from Film Score Monthly, plus additional score and source cues from a surviving music & effects mix not used for the CD.

The two standouts

Though Scream Factory presents Dead Ringers with a clean
soundtrack (the Criterion master was plagued by audio distortion), the stereo channels are reversed
on the 2.0 DTS - HD MA
tracks for both incarnations of the film.
Meanwhile,
on the
soundtrack, Primer and Upstream Color brainy - rabbit - hole - auteur Shane Carruth provides half a dozen creepy electronic
tracks, these are carefully calibrated with the films official pair of composers upbeat, playful xylophone taps.
On the
soundtrack side we get the return of a number of fantastic Sonic music
tracks in addition to catchy remixes and brand new music.

The
track is set to appear
on the
soundtrack to the upcoming Black Panther movie, which makes perfect sense; production this bombastic deserves a multi-million dollar blockbuster to match.
The
soundtrack contains 26
tracks and was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, with direction provided by composer Alexandre Desplat, who has been nominated for Grammy, Academy and Golden Globe awards for his work
on the
soundtracks for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and The Queen.
It's too bad the studio couldn't come up with anything else to accompany these files; MP3s of the
soundtrack's 10
tracks for instance, which are currently a nice deal at $ 5
on Amazon.com.
It would be a nice touch to provide a mono
soundtrack for movies like this that was unrestored, preserving more of the flavour that an optical
track might have had
on release, but it sounds as if all three mixes
on the disc (a Dolby Digital Surround EX option running at 640 kbps splits the difference between the DTS and the mono) come from the same scrubbed and remastered source.
The DVD also offers two English audio
tracks: a Dolby Digital 5.1 Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix (apparently the same one used
on the Platinum Edition) and the same Restored Original Theatrical
Soundtrack found
on the Blu - ray.
The 5.1 opera
track (more
on that in just a bit) has much greater impact, but as far as the proper original
soundtrack is concerned, one can hardly ask for more of a 65 - year - old foreign film.
An active sports exhaust provides the
soundtrack, which is variable depending
on which of the three driving modes (Normal, Sport,
Track) is engaged.
