The
animation is not done
there: the film is chock full of gorgeous Asian landscapes, and the art style frequently shifts into
traditional animation to deliver flashbacks.
There's so much pleasure in the ambitious production design too, from the exquisite puppets and sequences influenced by
traditional shadow play to
animation inspired by Japanese woodblocks and Alexandre Desplat's striking, non-orchestral score, which is fully in tune with the film's setting.
Characters might portray that

animation.
Add to that fact that
there are a number of peripheral characters written purely to conform to the
traditional animation stereotypes and you have a significant amount of poor characterisation.
There's something a little thrilling in watching how co - writer / director Sarah Smith and her team of animators at Aardman Studios (mostly known for their clay
animation efforts — this one is entirely computer - animated but maintains the typical look of their
traditional characters) imagine Santa embracing technology.

there is a cinema; and the
animation team host an evening entertainment programme of stage shows, live music acts and more.

there's one additional note: Most Samsung devices are not compatible with
traditional Android boot
animation files such as this one, so this won't work on any Galaxy devices unless you're running an AOSP - based custom ROM.
