I had intended to try
all traditional fall colors for the front porch, but when I found a shabby - teal garden frog on clearance at Hobby Lobby for just a few dollars right before Halloween, I thought it would make a fun Halloween prop for my Trick - Or - Treaters.

The correct use of photos, particularly of women and people of
color, has long been a sensitive issue
for traditional publications, and the public has become increasingly critical of efforts they believe
fall short.
Tell me I'm not alone in this: You saw Ratatouille,
fell in love with Remy (though you still jumped a foot in the air when you saw a significantly less - charming rodent scamper across your path on the way home) and found yourself with a pressing craving, not
for the heavy and too - often soggy

Although I love the price point and
traditional style of this leopard clutch, the green foldover leopard clutch is a fun spin on the
traditional and I love the
color for fall.
I love the mixing of the blue accents with
traditional colors for fall from your banner to the throws and pillows.
So I totally didn't do this fun room justice because I am way too serious to do silly poses where it looks like you are
falling down into a hole... the room was specifically designed
for that but instead I stuck with the
traditional blogger pose in front of a
colored wall haha!!
I did add a couple pillows
for a pop or
traditional fall colors but
for the rest I stuck with ticking stripes and soft ivory.
My personal style tends to lean a little more transitional modern with clean lines and an eclectic feel so doing something different in my decor this season has made my home feel fresh
for fall but more importantly it blends and flows better with the rest of my home, vs. the
traditional fall colors that would have fought with my existing decor.
I love the way it looks with the
fall colors right now, and I'm thinking it'll be a great backdrop
for Christmas decorating too, where you could pair it with
traditional reds, whites, silvers or golds... but one holiday season at a time!

Fall Home Tour that is happening this week, but as you can tell, I opted to go with muted blues and greens instead of
traditional Fall colors.
With berry and red shades, these new
colors are perfect
for traditional Fall and Winter makeup looks.
For my wreath creation, I decided to pass on the
traditional fall colors and create a neutral toned white pumpkin
fall wreath.
A central rationale
for providing these alternatives is that
traditional schools
fall short in educating children from low - income households and communities, children of
color and children with special needs.
I enjoy decorating with items that can be used
for Halloween and Thanksgiving, so I use lots of pumpkins and also incorporate the warmth of copper and touches of
traditional fall colors into each room.
I used a lot more
color than I normally do, because
for some reason I was really digging a bit of the
traditional fall palette.
