I resisted for awhile, thinking I didn't
really want to buy any new
kitchen equipment (doughnut pans) and also, I doubted that a baked doughnut could
really live up to its sinful counterpart, the
traditional deep - fried doughnut.
In my sneak preview on Instagram, I mentioned about enjoying an entire Onam spread after years and my resolve to recreate some of the
traditional Kerala dishes in my Canadian
kitchen so I don't have to wait till I go back home to India or seek out a
really good Kerala restaurant.
Another reason is that I spent all last year posting only Romanian recipes and avocado
really has no place in the
traditional Romanian
kitchen.
T is
really starting to role play especially being me — she loves copying what I'm doing and helping around the house so one of the things that Santa is looking at bringing is a wooden
kitchen and WOHO Zulily has a few wooden
kitchens today — my favourite is the prairie
kitchen with it's pale colouring and beautiful
traditional look T will have a more stylish
kitchen than I do.
I also
really wanted a little bit more updated beachy look to my
kitchen and while marble is absolutely gorgeous, I felt like maybe it was a bit too
traditional classic in style when paired with my subway tile.
Here, the main attraction is the black Aga against a dusky pink tiled splashback, which
really turns up the heat in this
traditional cream
kitchen.
It was a real shocker for me, he is usually very
traditional (he has always held a strong belief that wood should NOT be painted, only stained)... I have always loved painted furniture, cabinets, anything
really... this gives me hope that maybe he won't insist on stained wood cabinets when we get ready to redo the
kitchen!
I also

This was my «splurge» for the
kitchen (it
really isn't that much more expensive than a
traditional white farmhouse sink though).
