For the second part of my goal —
maintenance — I decided to make one huge change in my
traditional weight - loss regimen: I was going to take it slooooooow.
As months pass and the event is closer
weight training will remain a part of my training, a bigger part than for
traditional triathlete training, but even for me will reduce in volume and become more lean muscle
maintenance and injury prevention.
Finally there are a growing number of foods that focus on higher levels of protein and fat for
weight maintenance or even
weight loss rather than the
traditional approach of decreasing the amount of calories in a serving.
While strictly logically «fewer calories eaten than required for
weight maintenance» equals «
weight loss», it's not that simple, and «
traditional» low - protein / low - fat, high - carb / high - fiber diets leave a lot to be desired when looking at nutritional value.
