This means that if you were already planning a 5 - night award, by paying an extra 32,000 / 30,000 Starpoints, you get 50,000 airline miles — a better transfer rate than
regular transfers to airline partners.
Why it's worth it: While the personal Starwood Amex isn't currently offering an elevated bonus, it's still a great card, especially since Starpoints are my highest - rated loyalty currency and there are so many ways to redeem them,
from transferring to airline partners to SPG Moments to Starwood and Marriott award stays.
However, while you can transfer Membership Rewards and Citi ThankYou Points, you will generally get much better value from them
by transferring to airline partners instead of Hilton.
Also, the card offers an even better 3 percent rewards rate on travel and dining purchases, and, again, you get versatile Ultimate Rewards points that you can
transfer to airline partners at a 1:1 rate.
As an added bonus, for every 20,000 points that
you transfer to an airline partner, you'll get 5,000 points back.
Points can be redeemed in three ways, cash back, purchasing travel through the Ultimate Rewards portal, and
transferring to airline partners.
If you're booking an economy class ticket and you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve ℠ Card, you might be better off booking through the Chase travel portal than
transferring to an airline partner.
As a primary card the Venture Card fares a little better if you value choice or may not be able to take advantage of redeeming the Starpoints at a Starwood Property or
transferring them to an airline partner.
Points lose their cost significantly if you redeem them for other options as well as when
you transfer them to airline partners.
