The full automatic transmission capacity is listed at 7.8 L (8.2 US qt, 6.9 Imp qt), but only around 3.5 US qt (3.3 liters) can be drained from
the transmission drain plug.

draining out the old
transmission fluid via the
drain plug and reinstating it, one option is to introduce the new ATF through the dipstick channel.
Most cars do not have
drain plugs for the
transmission in my experience.
I do not believe that all automatic
transmissions have
drain / fill
plugs.
It; s the difference between a really good
transmission fluid service and the ones we all actually did... How many of us oldtimers removed the shield (back when you could) and rotated the TC, pulled the
plug, and
drained the converter?
