Fast forward a few years: I was up to my eyeballs in my freelance writing and
travel blogging career.

Transparent communication is a theme running through Luc Levesque's

travel blogging website where people could share their adventures, to his current practice of handing new employees a boss blueprint.
I've shifted from daily outfits to a hub of daily content that aims to inspire, inform and motivate, covering everything from
careers &
blogging advice, to personal style and
travel.
I don't have any drastic plans for change, my new interiors section is something I'm really enjoying sharing with you, my
blogging and
careers tips are something I want to share a little more of, and fashion and
travel will continue to be the back bone of my site.

travel, and social engagements in 2017, and which pressures I want to be forces in my life and which stressers I want to let go.

Later, my
blogging turned into a
career that (in part) afforded me the ability to continue to
travel full - time in a financially sustainable way.
Travel blogging may seem like an idyllic
career — and it is... sort of.
The good news is that
travel blogging is now a recognized industry, with lots of tools and opportunities for you to make a
career of it.
If you work hard and really
travel you can of course make
travel blogging into a
career.
Travel blogging is NOT about free trips and if it is for you, then change
careers please.

As I grew in my
career and
travel blogging, I have since stayed in a range of accommodations that can be described as simple to stately and plain to posh.
I left office walls and two - week vacations behind in 2011 to pursue the world and a

I'd argue that if your blog can only command around $ 10 a month — which, let's face it, is never likely to be enough to make a full - time
career from
travel blogging — then really more time needs to be invested in the site before trying to monetise.

I like the idea of a
blogging network, but
travel blogging is not a lucrative
career, so the fees make me very hesitant to join one.
After a long
career as a healthcare writer / editor, I've transitioned to freelance
travel writing and
blogging, and take on a book editing project from time to time.
