After one month, you must bring your dog back to the vet for
treatment of the microfilaria.
Three or four weeks after the initial treatment, your dog will need to be brought back for
treatment of the microfilaria; these are the baby heartworms.

microfilariae, particularly involving a transient diarrhea, has been observed in clinical trials with ivermectin alone after
