With that in mind, each year I try to strategically think about the key
pieces that are on my wish list
for the
season ahead as well as a few
trendier pieces that I know will be «must haves» and scoop them up during the sale.
I'm trying to invest in a few
pieces I truly love and can see myself using
for a long time rather than a dozen
trendy outfits that won't fit well / look good next
season.
This time we talk about
trendy one -
piece swimsuits
for upcoming hot
season wear.
I made a conscious decision that I would stop impulse buying «
trendy»
pieces that would only be around
for one
season and instead concentrate on building the perfect wardrobe full of classic investment
pieces that I would wear again and again.
I mixed together some classic and
trendy pieces to create a look that is truly comfortable and fun
for the
season.
Something I've noticed is that I've been stocking up on more classic
pieces versus those
trendy pieces that can be worn
for only
season.
Since the fashion world is constantly evolving & changing, it's easy
for us to always want the next
seasons trendiest piece, but that's not always realistic and sometimes what you're looking
for is already sitting right there in your closet.
Paired with it is a classic tailored gingham shirt and Thom Browne varsity jacket, a
trendy piece that every closet should have
for this winter (seriously, we love the casual cool of varsity jackets this
season!).
Although it is nice to add some
trendy pieces each
season, you should only go
for the trends that suit you.
I invested in a lot of
trendy pieces last year and
for this upcoming
season I want to scale back and take a more minimalist approach to my wardrobe.
While I'm dreaming of sundresses and shorts, Courtney PeGan is stocking her store with

Every
season brings the urge to splurge on
trendy new items — but there's a good chance that you'll have no desire to reach
for most of those
pieces in a year (or less!).

The quality is pretty standard
for costume jewelry and other
trendy pieces meant to last a
season or two.
