try to influence the prices of things like Raw Cacoa,
Almond Butter, Quinoa, real maple
syrup.

To keep it light, I used honey (but you could
try maple
syrup), minimal oil, and
almond milk.
Ever since I discovered that I could make a caramel - like mixture combining
almond butter + maple
syrup + vanilla extract in a saucepan until warm and gooey, I've been wanting to
try it in a banana smoothie.
I've
tried almond flour, gluten free flour, agave
syrup etc. and still find that Gwyneth's version has the best texture and flavor!
Also, I would
try using more oil and / or maple
syrup rather than
almond milk — that should help it «stick».
this is very similar to what we call Chikki... a sweet treat in western india... readily available in Bombay / Mumbai... and also in indian stores here in the US... u can use jaggery... other kinds of sugar... or even some honey to mix in the
syrup... for the nuts u can use cashews,
almonds, seasme seeds instead or in combination with peanuts... u could
try experimenting with different layers of thickness... and even
try a mould that would make it look more like a hersheys bar... easier to break off without creating too many crumbles

almonds, cashews and pecans) * 3/4 cup (65 g) flaked coconut, sweetened or not * 1/4 cup (35 g) raw, hulled sunflower seeds * 1/4 cup (35 g) whole or ground seeds, such as chia seeds, sesame seeds, flaxseeds, or hemp hearts * 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon * 1/2 cup (70 g) finely chopped candied ginger * 1/2 cup (70 g) raw pepitas * 1 cup (150 g) chopped dried figs * Candied Cacao Nibs (p. 248)(optional)
Try hazelnut or walnut meal instead of the
almond flour if you're not allergic... Regarding sweetness in the dish, use honey if you're afraid of maple
syrup and you can always omit chock chips and use cacao nibs.

Try adding the leftover
syrup to some
almond milk for a matcha latte or using it in baking if you're feeling adventurous!
They are very adaptable: add more maple
syrup if you want them sweeter, swap dates for the raisins, switch the walnuts with
almonds, or
try subbing some spelt for the whole wheat flour.
As an oatmeal addict, my favorite (late) Sunday breakfast is a bowl of oatmeal cooked in coconut and
almond milk topped with pecans and a dollop of pumpkin butter (you should
try this out by slow cooking pumpkin puree with cinnamon, ginger and maple
syrup, it is just addictive!).
