I grow three types of basil and have never
tried thai basil!
I suppose if you absolutely HAD to, maybe you can
try some Thai basil.
As all the beds are full, I find myself filling pots and scattering them about here and there in the garden as I remember that I wanted to
try that thai basil, or that the amount of sage I planted just really isn't enough, or what about those eggplant seedlings?

Thai basil where you are so that you can
try it.
Margaret's only addition is, to me, essential because I
tried it with and without: fresh
basil or cilantro in keeping with the
Thai flavor profile (not pictured below, as I added it later and LOVED it).
