My that's a tough one b / c they are the main ingredient — you could
try coconut butter but you will have very hard bars unless you eat them warmed a bit.
So, even though this was a «once a year special treat» dessert, if I were to re-make it, I would

coconut oil instead of cacao

butter is really great to use in this recipe as it binds the mixture together and has a chocolately taste but you could also
try using
coconut oil instead!
So I melted more
coconut oil, nut
butter and maple syrup to double that quantity and
tried to add it but still it was very thick, stiff and lumpy.
I can't guarantee success since I haven't
tried it myself, but you could add 1/2 cup nut or seed
butter of your choice and 1/4 cup cacao
butter in place of the
coconut butter.

I thought it wouldn't hurt to
try so I started adding a tablespoon of
coconut butter to my smoothies (which is amazing) and eating more flax, avocado, nut
butter and tahini, and the different nuts / seeds for each cycle phase.
You could
try using liquid
coconut oil instead, I'm just not a huge fan of it and prefer using the «
butter» instead.

When I saw Binnie's

try and boy was I glad I did.
I'm
trying to figure out how to budget for healthy foods, and I figure if I buy
coconut oil, instead of
butter for baking, then, this would go a long way towards that goal, and I think
butter isn't as healthy in our world, since it is probably from cows that are fed anti-biotics, and milk that is pasteurized and homogenized, what do you think??
I am
trying to avoid using
butter, to keep it as healthy as possible, but my options are either
coconut oil, or olive oil.
I may
try making it with
butter or shortening next time since good
coconut oil isn't always within my budget.
I had hated coffee all my 50 + years then I
tried coffee with
coconut oil grassfed unsalted
butter and honey I whipped it in my mutri bullet and it is surprisingly good.
