I can't say that I've
tried these pancakes with a milk substitute, but I have a pretty good feeling it will work well, because this recipe calls for standard milk (and not buttermilk, which is much harder to substitute with non-dairy).
Quinoa is all over the place these days, but I've definitely never
tried pancakes with them (or at least not adding cooked quinoa as opposed to using quinoa flour).
Also... I've never
tried pancakes with protein powder, but I must say, if you say you don't like protein powder than you have never tried Jay Robb protein powder.
I really really want to
try pancakes with it soon (and since I have some left still) and I just realized you have a deliciously fluffy looking recipe already Haha cake for dinner sounds like a good plan to me!

I am obsessed
with «protein
pancakes» but if you're going for 2 ingredients, egg beaters and a scoop of protein powder works best — I
tried it
with egg whites today because my grocery store ran out of egg beaters and there is a HUGE difference in consistency.
I'd definitely suggest using a slightly thicker
pancake batter than normal, and don't
try to flip too soon — otherwise you could end up
with a gooey (but still very yummy!)
I have not
tried powdered pb — nor have I
tried IHOP's Harvest Grain and Nut
Pancakes with Blueberries nor have I EVER had french toast filled
with peanut butter and jelly - gosh I am missing out!
Causing flat
pancakes with lumps from in mixed flour because I'm
trying not to mix them too much.
Using nondairy milk in
pancakes usually works great for me, but since I haven't
tried with this particular batch of flours I can say for sure.
These days I
tried to remake one of my favourite
pancakes with squash but adding sweet potato instead.
I
tried with a lid over the
pancake and without.
(I eat
pancakes maybe twice a year but it might be hard not to eat them more often
with this recipe) I may
try adding a bit of vanilla but they really don't need it.
I love savoury
pancakes too — we often have them sweet for breakfast but I now think I want some
with cheese sauce — sounds delicious — the green
pancakes sound like fun — I would
try the peanut sauce if not for the peanut allergy in the family

I love using yogurt in
pancakes, but never
tried it
with greek yogurt (which is odd because it's one of my new food loves!)
I make
pancakes with sour cream so I will definitely have to
try it
with Greek yogurt.
If you are in the habit of having guests for breakfast or feeding a large number of family members, this would be a good recipe to
try because it's ready all at once (unlike
pancakes or waffles or omelettes which cook one or two at a time) and can be eaten
with your hands....

I've never
tried that
with pancakes, I always just heat the pan to medium - high, but even if the heat isn't consistent you'll be able to tell how the
pancakes are cooking.
Make sure the
pancake is «set - up» enough before you
try flipping it or else you'll end up
with a protein
pancake scramble.
At any rate, it is an awesome fruity side for dishes that pair well
with that sort of thing, and while I haven't yet
tried it on ice cream for dessert, or on waffles or
pancakes at breakfast, I'm quite confident it would be great in that role as well.
I've seen a few recipes for buckwheat
pancakes with the batter just made from water — could be worth a
try?
My only dislike was the overly eggy taste, which is fine for savoury
pancakes, but I like mine
with maple syrup so will
try experimenting
with less egg yolk and more egg white.
Convinced it was just a fluke, I
tried it the next day again, this time
with a thicker layer of hummus (same
pancake).
Of course, the first
try had to be
with pancakes.
(This mornings breakfast was German
pancakes with strawberries, which I've been dying to
try for ages and just got around to.
As for kitchen disasters, I have been experimenting
with freekeh flour and have been
trying to master a flipable
pancake and have been so unlucky!
But it's also wonderful to think outside the syrup container and
try topping your
pancakes with jam, caramel, nuts, fruit, whipped cream, sprinkles and more!
