a true benefit to the reader, and should entice them to want to move forward.

The key is
to identify and research what your
true target audience craves, recognize the unique and meaningful aspects of what you have
to offer, and align the two
to benefit your ideal
reader in an exceptional way.
But the
reader benefits by being able
to lose her / himself in a fresh, original story that rings
true.
If it proves
to be
true it is the start of the erosion of the print business model, the one that sees publishers forced
to cut print runs, reduce their
benefits of scale in print and perhaps encourage them
to begin converting print
readers to digital ones.
While you don't want
to give away major plot twists, you can only
benefit from enticing
readers with hints of your amazing
true story.
I have personal credit card referral links, and while it's
true that means I can only refer people
to credit cards I actually carry, it also means I will
benefit personally if my blog convinces
readers to apply for an American Express Hilton Surpass card or Delta SkyMiles Business card (the only referral links I currently have available).
