Although those contemporary theologies which stress the persistence

centered faith and love portrayed by Jesus.

lives upon his good news about the kingdom among us, about who is really well - off and who is not, and about

of heart and how it expresses itself in action.
No doubt it is
true, scientifically speaking, that no distinct
center of superhuman consciousness has yet appeared on earth (at least in the
living world) for which it may be claimed or predicted that one day it will exercise a centralizing function, in relation to associated human thought, similar to the role
of the individual «I» in relation to the cells
of the brain.
Through this
centering of the Church in and through the Eucharist which is the
Living Christ, He is also the Lord
of the Magisterium, the
true word
of the Word Incarnate.
True, the number
of people a hospital or
center can employ may be reduced, but some competent people are now finding difficulty
of a new order in making a
living from private practice.
No one can enter eternal
life in reality unless he is willing to give up his own centrality in order to find a
true center in God and in a community
of love.
The classical Christian
center seems to me to involve, in any case, a far more just and dynamic view
of eternal
life than has so far been expressed in traditional formulations, a view which accepts and incorporates whatever is
true in the first two.
