Everyone knows that a great film needs a great soundtrack as it what
truly brings some of the more
emotional scenes alive; the movie however does lack that.
It is Bilbo that must awaken him from this stupor of sorts, and though it is done in a frustratingly superficial manner, both Martin Freeman and Richard Armitage bring enough
emotional gravitas to their characters to create a
truly heartwarming
scene.
While the political debate that unfolds between Stanley and John during that
scene is as forced as the road trip formula that outlines the plot, this
emotional argument rings true, especially for us who are critical of Stanley's decision, and a moment of simple brotherly love that caps the
scene is
truly touching.
