The Christian who believes, in line with all classical Christianity, that Christ
truly rose from the dead knows — whatever elements of truth the doctrine of reincarnation may have on the lower levels of life — that for man the final truth is personal resurrection.

truly believed that Jesus had
risen from the
dead, so much so that some were killed for their faith.
The apostles were in a position to KNOW if Jesus
truly had
risen from the
dead and they were willing to give their lives for the spread of the gospel, regardless of the persecution they faced.
If you take a look at each one of those facts, while all of them are true, none of them include a promise, and it is entirely possible for someone to believe that Jesus
truly existed, that Jesus was God in the flesh, and to believe that Jesus died on the cross and
rose again
from the
dead, while at the same time, failing to believe in Jesus for everlasting life.
While the Apostles were
truly a less than desirable lot, between the arguments between themselves.The fact that they had Jesus there but never believed Him till He
rose from the
dead always gave me hope for my salvation knowing I was not a model of holiness that Jesus taught.
