Try doing a few explosive sets on the big movements such as
bench press, leg press,
dumbbell rows, but use relatively light wight — about 40 % of your 1RM.
Try, for instance to replace your
bench exercises with
dumbbell flyes, or to doing overhead triceps extensions instead of doing pulldowns.
Try supersetting flat
bench dumbbell flyes with decline pushups.
Along with squats,
bench presses, and deadlifts,
try adding overhead presses, incline
bench presses, and
dumbbell presses.
For the
dumbbell push - ups, hold on to the
dumbbells like they're push - up handles and
try to match the number of reps you performed with the incline
dumbbell bench press.
In either case, I'm
trying to add complexity to the movement to challenge their method of stabilization, but offset, unilaterally - biased exercises (e.g. contralateral offset single leg Romanian deadlift, 1 - arm
dumbbell bench press) are on the far end of the spectrum.
Im saying this because in the summer i
try to get my upper body stronger but i don't know if i should do this since often time the workout i do are anaerobic (like push ups, exercises with
dumbbells,
bench press etc...).
