I've wanted to
try making
gochujang paste for kimchi, but haven't yet been able to find all of the ingredients, so my first choice would be the Korean BBQ rice!
I adore forbidden rice - I can't wait to
try this recipe and
gochujang (I've never
tried it before, but it sounds delicious)!
The idea is to get
gochujang into the pantries of Western home cooks who might not have
tried or cooked with it before, versus cooks who already prepare Korean food, who have to use it.
Virtually any hot sauce you've got on hand will work —
try sambal oelek, sriracha,
gochujang, adobo sauce from canned chipotles in adobo, or sweet chile sauce.
