If I ever get around to making my own, I want to
try hibiscus tea for the main flavor component.

Even though I've
tried the reddest of all red tinctures — strong
hibiscus tea, beet juice, and cranberry juice, they do not produce anything close to red!
I have heard of
hibiscus tea, agua fresca, popsicle, chocolate
hibiscus cookies and other treats but never of a flan... and I will have to
try this flan recipe.
I also love Tazo Passion
tea since it's made also made with rooibos and
hibiscus, but I wanted to
try something new.
We make pink lemonade every weekend, and instead of stirring the sugar into the water, I make a simple syrup of the water and sugar, add fresh mint leaves and a mixed fruit flavored
tea from dried fruits and leaves — you can
try different
tea flavors like cherry, berry,
hibiscus etc., the mixed cocktail seems to go over best in our house.
Just like cranberry juice,
hibiscus tea has a zing to it; you'll want to
try it a few times and make your own decision on the flavor profile.
