This looks amazing and I really want to
try it, but I wondered — Instead of the flaxseed, could you use
psyllium husk powder?
Unfortunately there is no substitute for the
psyllium husk powder — they work to stick the loaf together and I'm so sorry but they're just essential for the recipe, I
tried it without them and it was just too crumbly!
I would
try the recipe with arrow root
powder next time, sometimes
psyllium husk can create this x

I've been making my breads with xanthan gun but just saw
psyllium at the store and wants to give it a
try... aaaaand came home with the whole
husks instead of the
powder.
I've
tried using
psyllium husk powder in banana bread twice, and both times I ended up with a gelatinous mess.
To treat,
try a teaspoon dose of sugar - free Metamucil or plain
psyllium husk powder right before you eat a meal.
I would
try the following: Instead of 4 tbsp flax meal, add 2 tbsp almond flour, 2 tbsp ground chia seeds + 1 tsp
psyllium husk powder.
I can attest to the fiber / carbs thing — I've been using
psyllium husk powder on my husband for months now,
trying to get his BG numbers down, and it only seemed to make things worse.
Don't get me wrong, diet is primary, but when you need a little help,
try a teaspoon of
psyllium husk powder, stirred into a suitable liquid (I prefer apple juice or sugarcane juice.)
By the way, if you can't find the
psyllium husk version,
psyllium powder will work too (
try 2 tablespoons instead of 3 as it's finer than the
husk).
