When I am going to work out or have just finished working out, I
try to have a
smoothie that includes a high nutrient packed
vegetable like kale or spinach.
I'm
trying to get more
vegetables and green
smoothies do get tiring after awhile.
My favorite
smoothie is anything tropical, although I am
trying more green
smoothie recipes to up my
vegetable intake and those have been pretty tasty.
If you do decide to quit caffeine all together,
try looking into safe pregnancy teas or making yourself some healthy
vegetable smoothies.
Other ways to squeeze in more fruits and veggies: Make fruit (or veggie)
smoothies, use fruit or
vegetable salsas or
vegetable reduction sauces (sauces made from puréed
vegetables) over fish or chicken, add shredded carrots to your sandwich,
try grilled
vegetables, and
try puréed
vegetable soups.
Include nutritious snacks that you do like,
try fruit
smoothies and
vegetable - based soups and limit «extra» foods that are high in fat and sugar.
Besides eating lots of colorful fruits and
vegetables,
try adding 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed a day to your food in things like your
smoothies or salads for an easy fiber boost.
Try our fresh and simple juice and
smoothie recipes made from whole fruits and
vegetables.
If you don't care for the taste of celery, or don't like having to chew it up,
try adding it to a diuretic
smoothie with other fruits and
vegetables found on this page.
We've
tried cutting out
smoothies, cutting down on calories, eating more
vegetables than carbs but nothing seems to work.
