just about anything else, they often borrow from the Asian and Pacific cuisines to use soy, teriyaki, oyster, fish and hoisin sauces in combination with flavored vinegars, honey, and
turbinado sugar, and fruit juices (apple, apricot, pineapple, mango, etc.) to make light and flavorful basting, marinating & serving sauces.

Turbinado sugar is
just unprocessed
sugar.
I usually throw in walnuts, dark chocolate, and also cut up Trader Joe's sea salt &
turbinado sugar dark chocolate almonds — gives it
just the right kick of salty & sweet!
Sprinkle the top with some extra pumpkin seeds and
turbinado sugar, and bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 40 - 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with
just a few moist crumbs.
However,
just before baking, I do sprinkle the tops with
just a pinch of raw
turbinado sugar.

sugar — which is more intensely flavor and what I would of used had I not

Turbinado sugar is really
just sugar, it's not much better than granulated
sugar.
Fill each well 3/4 full and sprinkle a little
turbinado on top because even if you don't want them eating a lot of
sugar, you have a heart and it's
just a teeny bit.
Then, very lightly (using
just a couple teaspoons for a whole pan), I sprinkle
just a touch of raw date
sugar, raw
turbinado sugar, or pure maple
sugar over the cups on top of the spray.
In fact, all these down are basically
just sugar — whether dark, light, raw, or
turbinado.
