i will definitely be utilizing this recipe after
turkey day because i know we will have TONS of leftovers.
Not exact matches
This proved to be the hardest part of the whole process
because apparently I'm so weak I can't even arm wrestle a dead
turkey, but also
because the rest of the
day went... well... perfectly.
Because we all know that Thanksgiving means we eat all
day, start to finish, I'm linking you to everything from appetizers and «waiting snacks», to main dishes (
turkey!)
But this was a nice twist that I may even be willing to make on Thanksgiving and definitely will use other times of the year
because we eat
turkey more than just one
day a year here, since we love it.
I feel like we HAD to have cooked this on the same
day,
because lately I've been whipping up sweet potato / ground
turkey shepherds pie like it's my JOB.
As I mentioned in the last post, I ordered the
turkey this year,
because its just been too crazy around here to plan for a proper
turkey selection, brining, and then staying tethered to the oven all
day.
Because we will be having
turkey in different forms for the next few
days I wanted to share some of our favorite recipes to feature some yummy ways to use left - overs!
Grain Free Low Carb
Turkey Noodle Soup — Do you love chicken /
turkey noodle soup
because it reminds you of your mom or grandma on a chilly
day.
Sometimes we plan ahead and saute up some ground beef or
turkey; some
days, it's frozen ikea meatballs,
because it's what we have.
Other than the
turkey chili that I ate almost every
day (which was really more beans than
turkey), I didn't eat meat
because it was just too expensive.
We had our
turkey feast on Saturday and I thought that was very wise
because that gives us two
days to digest and relax and get back to the work - week.
I used ground
turkey because that is what I had (it was already cooked from a previous
days recipe and just made extra knowing I would need it for something!)
That — and it was probably my husband's favorite cake I made pre-allergy
days, so I knew that we couldn't just go cold
turkey because we couldn't use eggs, flour or the usual line up of ingredients.
Those
days where we served proper
turkey dinner were much more enjoyable
because I could be proud of some of what we were serving the kids... Except for the potatoes — mash powder or scalloped mix didn't sit well with me.
I was a bit sluggish and irretable coming off caffeine the first two
days but thats only
because I quite caffeine cold
turkey..
Time to wake up from your
turkey hangover,
because the biggest shopping
day of the year is here!

days.
For many families, it's easy to plan for the holidays
because tradition calls for a glazed
turkey dinner on Thanksgiving
Day at Aunt Ruth's, an open fire around the wood - burning fireplace with eggnog and holiday cookies at grandma's and, of course, the always extraordinary New Year's bash at Uncle Joey's.
Maybe it's
because I feel like I can set it up before Thanksgiving without people getting all judge - y and thinking that if I have even a hint of Christmas before
turkey day I'm breaking some kind of sacred rule.
