Today I'm sharing one of the desserts I made for
turkey day last week, but it's certainly not restricted to the month of November.

Dan's gotten a taste of my grumpier side this weekend as I've spent the
last three
days attempting to declare my independence from coffee by kicking the caffeine habit cold
turkey.
I know cooking another meal isn't ideal right after you made a massive meal for Thanksgiving but
turkey lasts a bit in the refrigerator so you can take a break for a
day or two and then shred up the
turkey or rough chop it and make this curry
turkey pot pie.
As I mentioned in the
last post, I ordered the
turkey this year, because its just been too crazy around here to plan for a proper
turkey selection, brining, and then staying tethered to the oven all
day.
It's almost like a lighter version of a Waldorf (which I offered to my
turkey day guests
last year, but no - one ate).
Violet's been sick and periodically cranky the
last few
days, but we enjoyed a relaxed morning as a family, and a delicious multicultural Thanksgiving potluck (
turkey!
But if you were to go completely cold
turkey then it make take a week or two to completely dry up, but the engorgement should only
last a couple of
days.
For locals, the
last day of the year is a time to lay out a delicious feast of rice and beans, relleno, and
turkey while counting down the final hours of December together with friends, family, and loved ones.
It's the same mistake made by the
turkey that wakes up the
day before Thanksgiving convinced that this
day is bound to be just as terrific as the
last thousand, based on his own experience.
