I made a
few tweaks... My local market
was out
of fresh
turmeric so I decided to not hunt for it, and used a dash
of paprika (even though I know they
're nothing alike!).
Whether or not you
're in on the
turmeric hype, these chewy bundles
of coconut, dark chocolate, and
turmeric are loaded with flavor and might even have a
few health benefits.
With a tad
of sweetness from the pinapple juice, a slight pop from the
turmeric and ginger, creamy richness from an avocado, and a bit
of crunch
of a
few chopped tigernuts, this salad
is perfect anytime, anywhere!
I can't wait for you to share your gingery goodness I've only ever used fresh ginger root a
few times, I
'm lazy and I like the «softer» taste
of ground BUT (random) I have like a pound
of fresh...
TURMERIC ROOT!
I have blogged my own version
of cauli couscous salad a

is not about chickpeas, btw) I favour a quick drying a softening blast
of grated and
turmeric - coated cauliflower in a hottish oven, with preserved lemon and lots
of shaved veggies stirred in.
Curry powder
is a mixture
of several spices —
turmeric, cumin, coriander, to name a
few.
This package
is filled with 19 organic superfoods such as spirulina, kale, spinach, sea kelp, chlorella, aloe vera leaf, broccoli and dulse (which
is like seaweed but with more fiber and protein) and a antioxidant complex consisting
of: reishi mushroom, ginger root,
turmeric, raspberry, blueberry and pineapple — just to name a
few.
The process
is really simple - pour freshly boiled water over a couple slices
of lemon, a
few thin slices
of ginger, a bit
of lemon juice, a pinch
of ground
turmeric and some good quality honey.
Bone broth and
turmeric are incredibly healing, health promoting, anti-inflammatory foods loaded with amino acids, collagen, minerals, and antioxidants making them that arguably a
few of the most powerful substances you can consume for total body health.
Here
's how to inject some quick color — and a
few extra health benefits: when the vegetables finish their saute, add 1/2 teaspoon
of ground
turmeric and stir to combine.
One
of the big things that healed it
was turmeric tincture (along with some other herbs) and a
few other herbal soaks / salves.
In the summer, tea wasn't as appetizing so I made it into «ice cream» — using the frozen banana trick: one frozen banana, 1 teaspoon
of ginger, 1 teaspoon
of turmeric, dash
of cayenne, and a

of the pepper mill, processed in a food processor until it resembles soft serve.
When the semolina
is ready, top it with the warm blueberries, a
few coconut flakes, the lemon zest and a pinch

're golden, just like the color
of this dish once you
're done.
I decided to use a mixture
of my favourite spices in the spice cabinet, so used whole black peppercorns, fennel seeds, paprika,
turmeric and coriander — I
'm expecting a bit
of an Indian spice kick to it in a
few weeks» time!
Simple measures to help preserve memory and mental acuity
are at hand: Consume less added sugar, less saturated fat, and
fewer calories; get 30 - 40 minutes
of cardio at 70 %
of your maximum heart rate most days a week; chow down on 8 - 10 servings
of foods rich in anti-oxidants (think a rainbow
of richly hued fruits and veggies), eat more
turmeric (yummy in egg dishes and soups, or on veggies)-- even take a 200 mg ibuprofen daily (check with your own doc first).
These days, I
'm much more excited about unique nutrients like Coenzyme Q10, and potent extracts
