Just because we don't have clear evidence
in what
works in turnarounds, it doesn't mean states should just throw their hands up when it comes to students trapped
in failing schools.
Now
in its sixth year, that
turnaround approach is seen by some as a first of its kind — both for its academic results and, education experts say, for the inclusive and pragmatic way it got traditional public schools, charters, nonprofits, and families to
work together.
