To OP: So I understand better, you say when it's cold, you turn the key, then starter engages the engine and the engine turns over (cranks over and over), but it doesn't want to start (a «cranks - won «t - start» situation)?
When starting from a cold start the engine will turn over, reach around 1000 rpm, then die.
