I thought of
the twitching ovary as Margie's intuition.
I thought
the twitching ovary was Brown's way of letting the reader believe that there was hope, a spark so to speak, that Margie could overcome her motherless childhood and become a loving, caring, and fulfilled mother... Symbolizing that inside of Margie, was this ova, alive and waiting for the time when she would be or could be a worthy mother.
I think that having the character having
a twitching ovary is totally stupid and I don't see any reason for it.
