Today I'm going to talk about Onnit's new Mobility Bands, a new
type of resistance band created specifically for mobility workouts.

From barre moves that lengthen the lower body to curls that target the arms,
resistance bands can be used for almost any
type of activity and muscle group.
While they don't look too impressive,
bands will give you a
type of resistance you can't get anywhere else, called linear variable
resistance.
There are many squat variations which can be done with various
types of resistance whether in the form
of body weight,
resistance bands, heavy dumbbells or barbells loaded with an adequate load.
There are a variety
of resistance bands out there, but the three most popular
types are looped
resistance bands, elastic
band tubes with handles and mini
bands.

resistance bands for different
types of training.
Bands are one
of my favorite
types of resistance for beginners.
There are many different exercises for strengthening the rotator cuff and you can perform the exercises with different
types of equipment, such as dumbbells, cables, or tubing /
resistance bands.
Resistance training workouts (weights,
bands, bodyweight, etc) as well as certain
types of interval training workouts can produce better results if done correctly.
In addition, split squat variations can be performed with a range
of different
types of external
resistance, including barbells (e.g. McCurdy et al. 2010), dumbbells, or even elastic
resistance bands looped under the front foot and over the shoulder (e.g. as lunges performed as described in Jakobsen et al. 2012).
This technique combines two
type of resistance - a bodyweight push - up and direct outwards - pulling
resistance of cables or
bands.
