Four
types of climate scenario that have been applied in impact assessments are introduced in this section.

The study features maps
of the state and shows the
climate risk to 30 different vegetation
types under different
climate scenarios.
A new buzz - word is the concept
of «seamless prediction», in which predictions ranging from nowcasting all the way to future
scenarios are provided with a sliding time scale and that doesn't make distinction
of incremental
types such as «weather forecasts» «seasonal predictions» and «
climate scenarios».
With
Climate Central's summer interactive, users can
type in a U.S. city and get an idea
of how drastically summer will devolve into a Mad Max - like
scenario.
The WGI report is based on a new
type of scenarios of future anthropogenic emissions called Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs), which include a mitigation
scenario leading to a very low
climate forcing, two stabilization
scenarios and one
scenario with very high GHG emissions.
As it turns out, these alarmists were pushing (and still are) a unicorn -
type of science, based on fantasy
climate change
scenarios, which almost all have failed to happen.
In projected future
climate scenarios, divergence in the time
of day and
type of precipitation had very divergent impacts on the radiation balance and consequently on surface temperatures.
Sample
scenarios of changing
climate, expanded agriculture, and urbanization demonstrate the usefulness
of this
type of modeling for regional water planning.
The specific
climate scenario needs
of the impacts community vary, depending on the geographic region considered, the
type of impact, and the purpose
of the study.

The Chapter does not state why it chooses only to consider one
type of quantitative model, but says that its «Writing Team» listed 519
scenarios of the
type they decided to accept, and that 150
of these «were mitigation (
climate policy)
scenarios».
«The Chapter considers only one
type of quantitative future - predictive
climate model and «does not include quantitative
scenarios produced using other methods; for example heuristic estimation such as Delphi».
However, we demonstrated that there is specialisation
of the coral host to particular reef environments, with each strain
of coral host associating only with particular
types of symbiotic algae... the results also highlight the lack
of connectivity between different habitats on a single reef, such as shallow and deep water, which has important implications under future
climate change
scenarios, as coral reefs will be largely dependent on neighbouring areas for their recovery.
The range
of projected global warming
of 1.6 — 6.9 °C was from a wide set
of emission
scenarios examined with a number
of different
types of models, including AOGCMs, simple
climate models and Earth system models (including both GCMs and simple models incorporating biogeochemical feedbacks).
It's very difficult to find reliable / consistent figures for any
type of energy source decades out in the future, and it's equally difficult to compare the various proposed
scenarios for
climate change amelioration.
The first paper (Flower et al., 2013) used downscaled
climate data from global
climate models, subject to three different emissions
scenarios, to examine the effect
of projected
climate change on the distribution
of Douglas Fir and three
types of spruce.
