of four characters, but you can swap them out with the other four characters at any time - even after you've met up with the other playable characters, you can still pursue each character's individual story - you do this by making them the «main» character
of your current party
In many games
of this
type it can feel
as though the player in charge
of the
enemy forces has the upper hand most
of the time and almost has to guide the game's difficulty.
There are essentially three
enemy types that present three ways
of fighting; standard countering, disarming (which works the same way
as countering, just when you don't have a weapon equipped), and dodging, then attack.
As for Serious Sam 3 it shows some improvement over its predecessors, boasting a better AI that's capable
of doing more than just charging straight at you in a fit or rage, although that is still what a lot
of the
enemy types tend to do.
Meanwhile on the Locust side you've got the choice
of four Locust
types as default, but by killing
enemies and supporting your team you can earn points, which can in turn be cashed in to let you play
as larger, more powerful Locust variations, like a Mauler or Corpser.
At least a couple
of different
enemies types keep you on your toes, such
as the huge Leapers that can only be damaged from behind and the all - sticking sniper bots, but really it would have been nice to see a few more
enemy types to make you switch up your tactics.
These dungeons give the game a great replayability value,
as every run through is unique, although you will get used to the «
types»
of enemies you will encounter.
Hard Reset Redux is a bundle
of all content from the original game and all post-launch PC expansions including Hard Reset: Exile comprising
of new levels to continue Major Fletcher's story
as well
as new weapons, increasing
enemy variation by adding new
enemy types and an
enemy boss, although some elements
of the Exile expansion that were previously exclusive to the new levels have been integrated into the rest
of the game.
