At 7.75 x 2.9 x 2.3 inches, the Fugoo Tough is considerably smaller than many other outdoor speakers, like the 8.9 x 3.3 - inch
UE Megaboom or the 10 x 4.3 x 3 - inch Braven HD; those models also weigh quite a bit more than the 22 - ounce Tough.
Fugoo doesn't offer an app to make it easier to control the extra features, something
UE has mastered in its Boom line of portables.
And that's not even counting third - party devices, like
the UE Boom and Megaboom speakers, or the integration on the HTC U11 phone, or any number of other things out there.
It seems
UE has listened to our prayers and released a new PartyUp feature... Read more
After gifting
the UE Boom and Megaboom Alexa capabilities at the press of the Bluetooth button, UE has returned with the Megablast (and smaller Blast).
UE Roll sets a perfect scene with its waterproof and dare proof Bluetooth speaker.
Ultimate Ears has announced that it's getting into the smart speaker game with
the UE Blast and Megablast, a pair of Alexa - powered speakers.
There's no shortage of decent voice - controlled speakers these days, but the Alexa - powered
UE Blast and Megablast might be some of the very best.
The UE Boom 2 is one of our all - time favourite Bluetooth speakers.
It's fully waterproof and you can pair it with
another UE speaker to create a stereo pair.
-- Same style
UE boom mesh.
The UE Boom is ultra-powerful and, like
the UE Roll and UE Wonderboom, is 100 % splashproof, making it the perfect companion for any outdoor adventuring on your agenda.
The Logitech
UE Air Speaker will stream compressed or uncompressed audio from any iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS,... Read more
The UE Roll, the discus - shaped rugged Bluetooth speaker, is back for round two.
The UE Roll 2 takes the same dinky shape as the original waterproof speaker, but crams in 15 per cent more sound and better wireless range to 100 - feet, according to the company....
It supports LTE
UE Category 4, which can give upto 150 Mbps downloading speed and 50 Mbps uploading speed.
It started to distort around 85 decibels, similar to
the UE Megaboom and Fugoo Tough in loud mode.
Logitech doesn't specify what Bluetooth codecs and versions
the UE 9000 supports, but it will work with any iPad, every iPhone since the 3GS, and most iPods that are still made.
The UE 9000 features all these things, as well as an exceedingly comfortable circumaural (over-the-ear) fit.
Not content with just lab testing the colour options for the external ultra-tough mesh material of Ultimate Ears products, Stevie,
UE materials manager, showed us how the company creates 12 test colour swatches on a single sheet and literally leaves them out in the sun.
Design The latest
UE designs from Logitech all have a common thread — the color blue that graces the audio cable and the inside of the earcups, and generally futuristic styling, with glossy black - and - metallic color schemes and angular, jagged contours.
If you're looking for a solid wireless Bluetooth stereo headphone pair, but $ 400 is more than you want to spend, the good news is you have a multitude of options — but they won't all be as powerful as
the UE 9000.
In addition to chatting to engineers, designers and managers, it's those images coupled with some of the details that show off the Ultimate Ears spirit; that go to show the time and effort put into making
the UE Roll; that are fun and worth sharing as a snippet of insight.
The Sennheiser MM 550 - X costs $ 100 more than
the UE 9000 and delivers excellent sound quality, but its ineffective noise cancellation and even higher price give us pause.
Not content with «normal» packaging, Ultimate Ears wanted
the UE Roll to be wrapped in a single sheet, containing one of six different poster designs.
While I never fully reviewed Ultimate Ears AKA
UE Boom, I spent a good amount of time with one and I recommended it for a few holidays last year.
Meanwhile,
UE does not say if or when the Blast will be able to stream music from the top three streaming services through Alexa.
The UE Roll is a playful take on a Bluetooth speaker that won't find much competition in the visuals department, but is that reason alone to buy it?
UE stocked this side with a few more features, one of which easily sets the Roll apart from the competition.
But so far, none of its speakers have stood out as stoutly as the new
UE Roll.
For the last few years,
UE has pioneered the art form of making Bluetooth speakers that «pop» visually and best the competition with some impressive functionality.
To make no - look adjustments easier,
UE made them feel different to the touch, one being convex, the other being concave.
But to Ultimate Ears, or
UE for short, that's just playing it safe.
The Roll comes packaged with a neon microUSB cable for charging and what
UE calls a «floatie.»
The UE Roll has a similar one but it was much larger, allowing you to hang it from basically anywhere you saw fit.
The UE Megaboom, I used to love but after comparing it to the RIva, it was kind of muddled.
Then just connect to
the UE Roll with Bluetooth.
If the lack of features like NFC, charging over USB and conference calling are a deal - breaker, check out the $ 99
UE Mini Boom for a cheaper option that fills these blanks.
It's this legacy that Ultimate Ears's latest
UE 900 noise - isolating in - ear headphones aspire to bring to a (slightly) more affordable consumer level, though the # 329 price tag makes it clear that these aren't «phones for the casual listener.
Even Google thought this was too good an idea to pass up on and
UE also pushed an update to two of their speakers that let them piggyback off of the AI built into your smart phone.
I bought the Logitech
UE boombox.
You'll get better sound from something like
the UE Roll mentioned above, or a Sonos Play: 1, plus the placement won't be restricted to lighting receptacles.
If you're willing to spend more, look at
the UE Mini Boom or Mini Jambox.
The UE Mini Boom comes the closest with a surprisingly bass - heavy sound.
It plays about 2 decibels louder than
the UE Roll 2, which is roughly the change you get when you turn your car stereo up a notch or two, and enough to fill a typical bedroom or small den with sound.
We did, however, ask
a UE rep whether or not other streaming services would be coming in the future and we were told that it's in the pipeline, but there's no exact time frame just yet.
The Wonderboom is among
UE's most portable speakers.
it is only slightly larger than
the UE mobile boombox reviewed here, but already competes with the much larger BIG jambox in sound quality.
It's a completely different design from
the UE Roll 2: rectangular rather than round, and about three times as heavy at 2.2 pounds.
But please keep in mind, we don't recommend
the UE Mobile Boombox.
The UE Mobile Boombox is really small, minimalistic and designed to be very portable.
