I think it's not the actual
feeding itself that bothers most
in public, but the actual ability to see the mother's
breast which is common nature for the body to be covered
in public, hence why we wears clothes, and that aspect of it feels very awkward and
uncomfortable.

in many cultures, some Americans are
uncomfortable or offended when a woman reveals even a portion of her
breast to nurse a child.
That being said, I understand that not everyone may be as «prude» as I am but I also feel
uncomfortable when I see others openly
breast feeding their children
in public.
I would never make an issue about someone else's choice to
breast feed just because I don't want to do so
in public, but I also have the right to feel
uncomfortable about it.
