speculation which, upon investigation, has evaporated in a mishmash of contradictions and
uncorroborated allegations... some witnesses had allegedly received offers of money and other inducements for their information.»
Of course, the suggestions of secondary effects «too fierce to mention» are simply
speculations until the premise itself can move from being an
uncorroborated hypothesis to «settled science».
