uncredentialed medical assistants, they either sought to restrict certain procedures to registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical / vocational nurses (LP / VNs), or were willing to accept any medical assisting credential as acceptable proof of competency.
Furthermore, by differentiating credentialed
medical assistants from those who are
uncredentialed, the CMS places importance on such credentials as the CMA (AAMA).
