The EPA, according to its spokesperson, has begun executing a plan to improve the science that
underlies emission factors and review the estimates more frequently.
Integrated assessment models (IAMs) take
underlying socioeconomic
factors, such as population and economic growth, as well as a climate target — such as limiting warming to 1.5 C — and estimate what changes could happen to energy production, use, and
emissions in different regions of the world to reach the targets in the most cost - effective way.
