family in New York State will feel alone or unsupported and that all such
families will have the tools, support and community they
need to nurture their children and be role models for others.
Adoption assistance (also known as adoption subsidy) provides financial and other supports to help
adoptive families meet the basic and
unique needs of children in care, including making it easier for the
families to access medical care, counseling or therapy, special equipment, tutoring programs, and other services.
This class is intended to help understand and meet the
unique needs of foster and
adoptive families and their children.
