As for the Nintendo 3DS,
sales remain pretty steady, with 14 729
units sold this

The main reason for that drop is Monster Hunter Generations, which was released during that same
week, last year, and had a strong impact on Nintendo 3DS

Sales also dropped for Splatoon 2, but it held better than Kirby: 18 729

week according to Media Create, which brings the total since launch to 2 232 305
units.
It reveals that total Software
sales topped 324 000
units, which is only 60.89 % of
Week 39
sales.
Media Create notes that it's the very first time since the first
week of May that total Hardware
sales have topped 100 000
units.
However, their LTD is a tad higher than Media Create's (398 000
units), due to their reporting higher
sales for
Week 1.
Featuring songs penned by the Oscar - and Tony - winning team of Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen) The Greatest Showman soundtrack shifted 106,000
units for the
week ending January 4, of which 78,000 were traditional album
sales.
Hardware-wise, the release of Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer boosted
sales for the Nintendo 3DS: a total of 55 124
units were sold this
week, including 44 994 New Nintendo 3DS XL.
Famitsu reports that during it's first
week on
sale (which is, in reality, last Saturday and Sunday), a total of 233,483 New Nintendo 3DS
units went on
sale.
