of the darkness

of God in person, God's
revelation of the meaning
of universal history so that we need no longer walk in darkness but in the light.

mystery to the world and to human existence is equivalent to what the Christian theological tradition has variously called original,

revelation, which it distinguishes from the special or decisive
revelation given in Christ.
