We moved to Japan about three months ago and I've been
unpacking boxes like you wouldn't believe.

It's
like watching a group of people work together to
unpack a stuffed closet: some want to put the damaged items right back in their
boxes, some want to wave them
like bloody shirts, some want to pause and see what they're actually looking at.
Metal lunchboxes clang as hungry tykes begin to
unpack a multitude of tins, cartons, juice
boxes and squeezable thing - a-ma-jigs to display on the giant tables
like a fire sale gone wrong.
I tend to get a bit hypoglycemic (even while eating low GI index foods) when I'm physically active for long periods of time...
like now, when I'm
unpacking boxes ad infinitum.
I will say we are almost totally
unpacked and throwing away a MOUNTAIN of
boxes felt
like winning the lottery.
I
like to have something visible, when I receive them I want to
unpack it
like it's Christmas day, I want to smell it when I open the
box, I also want to display it.
Deciding to buy term life insurance online while there are still
boxes from your dorm room
unpacked in your closet might seem a bit
like going into your gym's shower in a hazmat suit.
After unloading the moving van and
unpacking what can seem
like a never - ending amount of
boxes, you might think you're done moving.

Majority of our
boxes are
unpacked and we are just working on making our house feel
like a home and getting the basement organized.
