One of the options I always kept in mind was using
bead board wallpaper, and so that was exactly the route I decided to go.
I chose Graham & Brown's
bead board wallpaper.
Now I know... Masonite and
bead board wallpaper!
And FYI I used
bead board wallpaper on my cabinets and fooled»em all hahaha!
Next, we put up allen + roth
bead board wallpaper from Lowe's at six feet above the baseboards.

It already feels much more cozier in the space, and once it dries you can't even tell that it's not actual
bead board, but
wallpaper instead.
Get rid of the seafoam green carpet, take down all the
wallpaper and paint, paint the kitchen cabinets white, make the bathroom shiny white with
beaded board walls and ceiling, and dress up the front porch with some red flowers in pots and gardens.
