Mr. Carson is
of course quite right in implying that if we ask whether even local or limited
time averages in a system with chaotic trajectories are themselves completely ordered and regular, we find that they are not, and that
over even greater
times they, like individual trajectories themselves, are
unpredictable; that is probably an essential aspect
of chaotic behavior.
