if you want to keep added and / or
unrefined sugars out of this meal, it will still be wonderful.
Refined foods (like
sugar, white flour, and white rice) also contain very little,
if any, fiber and are best replaced with whole,
unrefined foods.
This doesn't go into the
sugar but it is used in the filtering process, so
if you want your cocktail to be 100 % vegan friendly, use agave syrup (which blends better in liquid anyway), or
unrefined sugar.

if you prefer to use a liquid sweetener such as agave nectar, it can change the consistency and taste of my recipe.

unrefined cane

This Mexican butternut squash soup could also be considered almost paleo since the recipe uses an
unrefined sweetener, but you can swap coconut
sugar and / or reduce the sweetener,
if desired.
If you'd like to use an
unrefined sugar, I'd try granulated coconut palm
sugar.
While coconut
sugar is
unrefined and contains some minerals, it's important to remember it's still a form of
sugar so
if you're going to consume it, it should only be occasionally as a treat.

unrefined and naturally lower
sugar recipes this is the one for you.

sugar + 1 teaspoon cinnamon) to the top of the muffins.
This recipe uses
unrefined sugar, but it's also possible to make this entirely
sugar - free
if you don't want any sweetness added.
This sap has a very low glycemic index score and contains 17 amino acids, minerals, vitamin C, broad - spectrum B vitamins, and has a nearly neutral pH.
If you have trouble finding this or can't afford it in large quantities, then at the very least, replace all white
sugar in recipes with
unrefined brown or golden caster
sugar.
(And the health - minded hippie in me would like to note that
unrefined sugars have way more vitamins and minerals than their refined —
if also delicious and useful — cousins.)

unrefined vegan diet or at least reduce all animal foods (meat, dairy, etc.) and avoid foods with refined
sugar and white flour products for at least three months.
I purchase it in bulk from a local co-op but
if this isn't an option,
unrefined cane
sugar is available online.
You could choose to sweeten this cake with some
unrefined sugar instead of maple syrup, just add extra milk
if you do so.
